Hey, I just wanted an opinion on my situation. I've started preparing for the GMAT 3 months ago. I have the OG 11, Princeton Review, Kaplan, and Kaplan 800, I did all the math and verbal problems. And I've done about 4-5 practise tests online so far. However my result on the practise test is getting worse with every week. First time I scored 580 and i thought i'll start building from there today i scored 530!!! I thought there is sense in reading all these books but I'm just getting more tired. Help me! What should I do just continue or there is something else I need to read or do... Please advise! Thanks!
Hi there,
One recommendation (and of course, I am a bit partial since I am a GMAT teacher) is to take a prep course. Sometimes, all it takes is someone working with you for a few hours to get you on the right track.
Another recommendation is focus less on the number of problems you do, and focus more on the quality of studying that you get in. What I mean is, don't just do a problem and say "oh, great, I got that right, I'll move on now." Or, even worse, don't get a problem wrong, look at the answer, and move on assuming that you'll get it right next time. Take the time to truly analyze every question, breaking them down and trying to solve problems in other ways. This is the way to improve on the GMAT - not by doing 1,000 problems out of the official guides as quickly as you can.
Hope this gets you on the right track!
