AIMING for a 700

by kamo » Thu May 01, 2008 5:12 pm
I was reading when you guys talked about KAPLAN , ok I practiced from it the first time and I got a 420 on the real GMAT (it felt like someone told me "your nothing"). Then I went back did KAPLAN all over again , ended up getting a 540 ( a change of 120 ) , I have 12 days to go to the real GMAT, and so far I finished KAPLAN + OG Verbal + OG Math , and tommorow will start working on OG 11th edition. I need some advice ( an extra pep talk could be helpful) , I have been living in my room , this exam although hard is living in me. I want to do well last time I did KAPLAN I got 550 , any advice would be helpful , my weaknesses are SC , and DS .

THANKS IN ADVANCE

Not sure how much this helps, but from what I understand that Kaplan test is off by 50-100 pts. So if your scoring within the 500 levels, it's equivlant to a 600 on the exam.

I think the kaplan is somewhat off with its scoring.

Look at the GMATPrep scores as more reflective of what you can expect at the real test.

Hang in there. One thing to keep in mind that was reassuring to me is that since the test is adaptive, it is hard for EVERYone. It pushes everyone to the limit, by design.

I liked Zoomryder's signature. It is only a test. If you're classifying the test as a roommate, maybe it's time to take a break and create some "space."

When asked if you're dating anyone, you shouldn't subconsciously say the GMAT. :)

To stay on point, though, the GMATPrep scores should be pretty reflective of your performance.

I am keeping the GMAT prep till the last few days of my studies , hopefully that would help. I tried the online peterson today ( DONT DO IT , UNLESS YOU ARE UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF DRUGS OR ALCOHOL) , since you do it directly online it keeps re loading everysecond and shows that loading bar at the bottom right hand corner , and distracts you.

I know its only a test , but man I have been waiting for a long time , I want the MBA so bad.

thanks for all the help and more advice is welcome.
