I am in a sophomore and will begin my junior year next quarter. What would be the best time for me to start preparing for gmat?
Hi malik.anam--
The important thing to keep in mind is that GMAT scores are good for 5 years. That means if you were to take the test today, you would need to matriculate at a MBA program before October 20, 2016 - which means that you'd need to apply for that program probably in 2015. Make sure that the timing of that plan matches up for how long your test score will be valid.
The advantage to testing a little earlier is that it gives you time to retest if your score is low. And, it's usually easier to take a test when you're in "study mode" at school already. It can be a good idea to take the GMAT while you're still in college, if you know for sure that you want to apply for an MBA program soon thereafter.
Hope this helps!
