Strategy -- Pls help

Hi All ,

This is my first post on BEATMBA. I am quite happy that I have reached here on right time. Thankx to google!!

I have scheduled my exam on 26th August to be precise.So this means 123 Days left for D-Day.

I have started preparing with the following material

1) OG 10
2) Manhatten GMAT Reviews (All)
3) kaplan & barron 2007
4) NOVA Gmat
5) Cliffs GMAT
6) Peterson's Ultimate GMAT Tool kit
7) Learning Express GMAT in 4 steps

I have planned to prepare in this way :

+ First I will be doing the verbal part for a month , I am doing OG questions , This will include the CR , RC , SC and all.

+ Then I am planning to prepare with the Quant section. for another month i.e 30 days

+ And the rest of the time I will be appearing in the simulation exams and all.

Now my questions are :

1) Weather I should go ahead with this plan or prepare quant and verbal part side by side ? And One month for each area is sufficient.

2) I have soft copies of all the books which hard copy should I buy for all my perparation needs from which i can gurantee 700 + score. if Kplan then which book 800 or other one ?

3) Please guide me with a good preparation strategy?

4) How much time should I devote for the preparation daily as I am a working professional.

Pls Suggest.

Before we go into what's "right" for you, we need more information about what you are trying to accomplish. How long have you studied thus far? What materials have you looked at? Do you know the different topics and each question type for each topic (and the strategies to solve each)? Etc. Etc. Give us more information about what you've done so far and we can help you formulate what you need to do from here.

Well , I have just started the prepration ... a week back and I have done approx. 100-150 question on CR , and already read reviews on verbal and quant of TATA MCGREW GMAT 2008. I have also completed 100 odd question on CR from OG10.

Apart from this I am giving emphasis on practice and sample tests and questions... I am weak in quant but is quite comfortable with Verbal section although I am not a native english speaker

I am targeting 700+ GMAT Score , I have around 3 Years management experience as a lead IT Specialist in HONDA MOTORS and looking for a decent MBA college. or ISB Hyderabad

The number of questions you've done thus far is not important. You haven't answered the questions I asked you. Can you, without looking in a book, name all the different types of CR questions and also describe the individual strategies for solving each question type? Sure you've read the reviews, but have you memorized and absorbed the lessons? Can you apply those strategies to each question in CR? Or are you just going on intuition still and what makes sense to you?

Good questions. I think it is important to have the answering strategies on your tips before the exam. It helps in gaining time, but also improve accuracy.

Oh yes ! I am sorry for moving offtopic ok so here I have understood all the types of the questions and also the strategy for them like

Assumptions , conclusion , premises and also how to eliminate the off topic and options with strong and rude words like must... etc finally I started with the 40 % accuracy now slowly moved to 60-65 % accuracy.

I have also solved these questions based on the strategy which I learned from reviews logically not with intution..

You say you have "soft copies" of all of the books. Do you mean electronic copies? If so, many of these books are not legally available in electronic form (eg, all OG and MGMAT books are not available in electronic form).

Just FYI...

I dont have information about that but I have already purchased 11 OG and Manhatten guides books recently from store printed versions and I dont need that soft copies anymore
