In August 2010, a report was published on stone projectile points dating back 64,000 years excavating from layers of ancient sediment in Sibudu Cave, South Africa.

Published ON doesn't look good to me.

A . excavating from --> suggest ongoing process, we need past action here
B . were wrong
E . it is missing excavation , change in meaning

D also doesn't look good published on stone projectile , looks as report physically written on it.

C : published about stone projectile , look better means report is about " stone projectile "
