School selection - Scholarship perspective

Hi.
I would like to apply to schools where I can get atleast 40k scholarship. pl suggest how do I go about selecting the schools.

My brief profile
Location - India
Gmat -720
GPA - 7.12 ( can't translate to out of 4)
Work ex - 2+ (as on date)
Good leadership examples, good social activities, valuable work experience, Forbes 500 listed employeer, good extra-curriculars in college.

If you wish to apply to top business schools then one of the prerequisites is having significant work experience. Generally candidates have around 4-5 years of full time experience in spite of several term time projects or jobs; so you may be competing with other candidates who have 4-5 years of full time experience and have started significant initiatives at college. Hence, we would advise you to gain some more full time work experience before you decide to apply for an MBA

To get a good scholarship, basically the school has to really really want you to come. And the scholarship you get will be in function of the schools you apply to. So, we've had people get scholarships to Wharton, To Chicago, etc. but they really worked hard to stand out, and make themselves expectational, and had good profiles to begin with. Basically, you will increase your chance for scholarships by applying to schools to which you have really excellent chances of getting accepted.

I always have greedily asked my applicants to fight for scholarship. The reason: Better chance with the college and why not take the free money which is there for the taking.

I want to tell you a few more things about scholarships.

  Answer the question with a surprise, or I would say with a punch which will make me read again.
  Charm and Intent with a lot of belief.
  Whether they want you or not is one thing and whether they want you with scholarship is another. In any case it helps you getting in for sure.
  Its a stage given. Backing your instinct is necessary, dont look greedy but needy, infact righteous is the word.
