Hi, I recently purchased the "RC-99" ebook from Aristotle after noticing that a lot of people swore by it. After going through some of their passages now, I feel I made a hasty decision. I have discovered that many of their passages (and questions) are verbatim copies from other sources, most prominently MCAT passages. Furthermore, the explanations provided by RC-99 are not up to the mark.

So you are better off buying one of the MCAT books, which are slightly higher priced but have excellent and detailed explanations. Search for "MCAT verbal reasoning" or "Examkrackers MCAT 101 passages" or "Kaplan MCAT verbal reasoning" on Amazon,Flipkart etc.

I am not sure about Veritas RC but if you are inclined towards Aristotle..think about spending a little more and buying good quality original material.

Thanks Siddus.
I will take your advice and check out books you mentioned.
Is MCAT material relevant for GMAT? I have never heard of it before.

Hi there. I recon MCAT is the medical college entrance test for US colleges. MCAT passages are longer than GMAT passages and have more questions (6-7 passage). You could go through a few of these if you want to practice reading long sentences with convoluted meanings. In this respect LSAT passages are much better because they are challenging as well as shorter. Nevertheless, in any RC passage your aim should always focus on 1) the main point 2) scope 3) structure without getting lost in the details.

Send me a PM with your email address and I will send you some good tips.

Cheers.
