Hey Guys! I am a final year business student with major in marketing. 3 internships and a high amount of ECA. I heard about this course in SMU: Msc in management.

Can you guys tell me wht kind of GMAT score they would take in ?

Also, if somebody knows about their placements, the brochure says jobs available which would be in public sector. I would be highly interested in working there. I would like to know the amount of opportunities after MSc in Management from SMU.

Preferably more than 620.

You might be looking forward to make a transition from a non-financial sector into finance based jobs. CFA is a highly likely activity which you will pursue alongwith.

The career path will be clearly in the Securities and Investments, Business Finance,Banking Services or Insurance lines.

Partnership with CFA

SMU is one of the programme partners of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Institute in the United States. Our MAF programme is an ideal form of preparation for those who wish to pursue their CFA designation. This is because apart from the curriculum which is designed to meet the CFA examination requirements, we have some lecturers who have taught the CFA Institute's syllabus since 1986. There are 4 pathways in the finance career cluster.

Employees in the Securities and Investments pathway provide investment analysis and guidance to help businesses and individuals with their investment decisions.

Employees in the Business Finance pathway manage and implement policy and strategy for capital structure, budgeting, acquisition and investment, financial modelling and planning, funding, dividends and taxation. They prepare, analyse and verify financial reports and related economic information to assist in making important financial decisions for an organisation.

Employees in the Banking Services pathway provide loans, credit and payment services to businesses and individuals.

Employees in the Insurance pathway provide protection to individuals and businesses against financial losses resulting from a variety of situations.

With a Master of Science in Applied Finance (MAF) degree, a candidate will most likely work in the Securities and Investment, Business Finance or Banking Services clusters.

Majority of our graduates work in the Banking, Finance and Insurance industry. The following are some of the examples gathered from our annual survey.
