Profile Review-- Professional Designations(role in admin)

Just to provide you with some general background about myself here is my information:

GPA-- 3.2 (BS in Finance & Operations Management) top 20 UG Biz School, also completed in 2 years.
GMAT-- 750
Professional-- 4.5 years of consulting experience with a major technology services firm

So in order to help address my slightly weak GPA, I since graduation from UG I have pursued and successfully completed the CFA exams( charter is pending work experience). While working i actively attempted to find a position in Financial Services but given the economic conditions the right opportunity did not present itself. So using an MBA as a platform I would like to move towards the IB, Research, PE, Asset Management Arena.

Target Schools: Booth, Kellog,NYU, UMich, UCLA, UT-Austin, Tuck

My question is how much will the CFA help build my profile up in the minds of admissions consultants, specially since i have not completed the charter due to the lack of applicable work experience.

Dear np1989,

The CFA will indicate you are serious about making a career change into financial services, as the exam takes tremendous time and effort to pass all 3 levels. It will also further demonstrate your quantitative and analytical aptitude in addition to your GMAT and transcript. Beyond that, the CFA is another data point of you as an applicant in evaluating all the data points of your applications. It, alone, is not enough to sway your admissions decision one way or another.
