Skewed GMAT Performance

I took the GMAT recently and received a total score of 710 (93%). However, the results were skewed, with much better results on the verbal. I received a 43 on the Quant (70%) and a 44 on the Verbal (97%). I took the GMAT about 2-3 years ago, and got a 690 total score (90%), with a 38 on the Verbal (84%) and a 46 on the Quant (79%).

I was a Finance/Accounting double major in college (NYU - Stern School of Business) and got good grades in all of my quantitative subjects (all were A - A-). I have 2 years work experience as an investment banking analyst and currently work as an associate at a private equity firm (been there for about a year) - both quantitative fields. I am considering taking the exam again, but am not certain if it would be beneficial to retake the exam. Any advice you can give me is greatly appreciated.

Dear Michael:

In my opinion, you do not need to retake the test to be competitive for most MBA programs. Your results are not that skewed and you have demonstrated strong quantitative aptitude in both your academic and professional careers. Ultimately, it is your choice, but I don't think it would be worth your time and money.
