GMAT retake and College application

by admit_2012 » Tue Sep 13, 2011 8:48 am
Hi,

I am an engineer working for 2 years in the automotive industry. I wrote my GMAT and secured a 690 (Q49, V35). I am aiming UCLA, Ross, NUS, ISB and Tepper. What are my chances. I have a college GPA of 8.83/10.

Please suggest if should consider retaking the test.

Hi,

Thanks for your post. While I don't have all the details of your profile, I can tell you that your GMAT score is below average for many of the schools on your list as well as compared to your peers. Applicants with backgrounds in engineering tend to have GMAT scores of 720+.

Have you taken the GMAT more than once? Do you think you can improve your score by retaking the exam? If so, it might be worth retaking and applying in round 2. You'll likely have greater success with a higher score.

Regards,

Stacey
