Need ur guidance abt my profile

Hi ,

This is vignesh from india..I have given my gmat today and gotta score of 500(Q-37,V-21) and I did mechanical engg with a gpa of 7.44/10(2007 Passout).Currently, I am associated with Larsen & Toubro limited India as a sales executive.I have a work experience of 4 years in marketing and sales.Precisely, I am taking care of Construction Equipment Business(Products-Hydraulic Excavator,Motorgraders,wheel loaders,dozer.).In which,i have to take care of sales of machinery,parts and services associated with it.

I have been given with 3 dealer sales engg,1 dealer sales manager,1 on role-sales executive to care of above mentioned activities.In other way, I need to extract work from them to reach the target. I have extra curricular activities like I had played in a District Level Cricket Tournament. I have acted as a coordinator for teh Independance day. I am a sponsor in a Child Rehabilation Center. I am learing guitar for the past 3 yrs. I know German as m oreign language.

I am looking for tier-2 b schools in US for 2012 fall.

I hope above mentioned details are helpful to make school-specific recommendations.

Yes, there are many universities and business schools in USA which accept students with GMAT score below 500. All these universities and business schools require strong commitment of student to do better in future. Business schools and universities not only consider GMAT score for admission but also give more priority to their past academic achievements, work experiences, social activities, ability to lead and excel, etc. Therefore, you should not lose your hope to study MBA in business schools and universities of USA based on your low GMAT score. You may have other qualities which MBA business schools and universities are looking for. I would say, if you are in no great rush, retake the GMAT. With a lot of studying I believe that anyone can hit a 650. And hitting a 650 means you are going to a better school, getting a better job, and getting a better salary.

You mention you are looking for a Tier 2 MBA school. What range do you consider Tier 2? Unfortunately a 500 GMAT score will almost definitely limit you from applying to Top 50 schools.

I agree with Jon in that with proper studying you should improve your score significantly and with a better score you would be able to apply to better programs.

In addition to all of the above you can try european bschools as well.

But everything said and done a Good GMAT score is absolutely necessary for Tier 2 colleges.
