"since" - indicates past..don't think a 'will' is required.

But guys..
There is a difference when we say " HAS continued and WILL continue " and only "HAS CONTINUED"

If the issue is of whether how are we suppose to know whether things CERTAINLY continue then C is out, (as "WILL" indicates certainity )


If such is not the case then ?

C is better

Right ?

the option A and B is ruled out because the use of 'they'.....
D is ruled out because of redundancy...
and as the first sentence uses the verb 'believes', 'it has and will continue to perpetuate' suits better than just ' it has continued to perpetuate'...

that's y for me also the Ans is 'C'... wht say guys??

Totally agree with "mmslf75".....not sure whose mentor Doris is, Limon's or the company's......

Nice discussion. There is one big error in C and therefore rejected it.

'has' (pre perf tense) require 'ed' form of verb, hence it should be continued.
Also in C the subject perpetuate is coming later, the best was to rewrite C would be "it has perpuated and will continue to do so"

rememmber the sentence started with company belives that, hence rest of the clause is companies belief and therefore not will becomes nothing but a redundant thought.

The original meaning imples " has xyz + will continue to xyz" . E does not seem to take care of the future

in the construction has and will (verb), the verb will take the modification according to the nearest helping verb. Here it is ^will^...so I find no pbm with C, and with the context in mind, it suits the best...

I doubts if that is the rule, refer to OG10 Que 75.
Though the logic is different for this que, as per this rule all options should be eliminated, but its not. ALso for my other reasons as well, I gave preference to E.

(c) is incorrect because it just says "has"; the word "perpetuated" is nowhere to be seen.

ex:
it can and will perpetuate ... --> this is fine, since both "can" and "will" can be attached to "perpetuate".
it has and will perpetuate ... --> not ok; this implies that the first verb is "has perpetuate".

you have a point about the vagueness of "mentor". choice (e) would be better if it were written thus:
... the shared artistic vision of Limon and his mentor and collaborator Doris Humphrey...

...but this is a clarity issue (and a minor one, at that), and clarity issues are ALWAYS of lower priority than grammar issues. so (e) wins over (c).

E says in Present Perfect sense !! and does not account for future !

well, remember that grammatical issues are more important than "clarity" issues.

if the competing choices have grammatical problems, and your preferred choice only has "clarity" problems, then your choice wins.
