Wow, I guess there are more than one correct asnwer:D
C, I guess has no problem and also E is correct to me
but because C is shorter I go with C
I am sort of doubtful

Hah! Honestly I'd have chosen C or E, because the others aren't even comparisons. You can't compare gender to species, or male and female birds to a whole species.

Option C looks best among the given choices. In option A and option B -- whole Species is incorrectly compared with male and female and Gender respectively.

D and E look awkward. only choice left is c. I am still not 100% sure though.
