Hi,
I've been at a top 20 consulting firm (top 5 HR consulting firm) for two years now, but am thinking about switching industries (from HR consulting to finance). However, I know that within the next one or two years I'll want to be in business school anyways.
My questions is, from a business school perspective, will it be better for me to have been at one firm for three or four years and building up more of an expertise in one thing, or is it OK to have two years at one firm and then one or two years at another?
If there's not a clear cut answer, what variables would affect it? If I was moving from a lesser known firm to a better known firm? If I were to switch firms, but still be in the same industry continuing to build an expertise? Something else?
Thanks for any guidance you can give!
Holmes
