If you do want to look at the number of minutes, split it into two pieces:
2,880,000 and 717
2,880,000 minutes = 2,880,000/60 hours
2,880,000/60 = 288,000/6 = 144,000/3 = 48,000 hours
48,000 hours = 48,000/24 days
48,000/24 = 2,000 days
So, that part does not change the time, since it is an exact number of days.
717 minutes is 3 minutes less than 720 minutes, which is 12 hours. So, we should go back 12 hours, then add back 3 minutes. We get
6:30.
