The striking differences between the semantic organization of Native American languages and that of European languages, in both grammar and vocabulary, have led scholars to think about the degree to which differences in language may be correlated with nonlinguistic differences.

(A) that of European languages, in both grammar and vocabulary, have
(B) that of European languages, including grammar and vocabulary, has
(C) those of European languages, which include grammar and vocabulary, have
(D) those of European languages, in grammar as well as vocabulary, has
(E) those of European languages, both in grammar and vocabulary, has
OA: A vs C. Which one is better and why????
C. I don't think it is a question of which is a better answer here.

A is wrong for two reasons; the pronoun that is singular. The verb has is singular

The subject is the striking differences

Hi,
The striking differences between the semantic organization of Native American languages and that(semantic organization) of European languages,...
WE are comparing the semantic organization of different languages. Only 'that'(singular) can refer to 'semantic organization'(singular). As 'those' is plural it cannot refer to 'semantic organization'.
So, C,D,E are out.
Now the subject of the sentence is 'differences'. So, main verb should be plural(have). So, B is out.

Hence, A
Cheers!
