I just took the gmat and scored a 530 and I am planning on taking it again in 5-6 weeks. I pulled out my trascript from my undergrad and it was a 2.48. I could not believe i messed up so horribly....I thought it was 2.8 or 2.9 (which in theory isnt much better but still not so low!) I took some classes at a community college before transfering and then after graduating I took a few classes as well. I have to get those transcripts but I believe my gpa is higher. Question is do I have a chance at getting into an MBA program? Should I look at online programs? Do online programs have high standards as a regular program?

also I have 5 years in retail banking sales experience.

Dear aarti dm,

All hope is not lost due to your low GPA. However, you do want to be mindful of your profile when determining where to apply. Since your GPA is on the low side, a higher GMAT score will help to demonstrate your academic aptitude. Likewise, any courses taken since you graduated from college where you earned high marks will show your ability to succeed in the classroom. Once you know your new GMAT score, then you can determine at which programs your profile is within a competitive range.

Good luck,
Lisa
