Manhattan-number properties

by rishijhawar » Fri Jul 29, 2011 5:09 am
if x^3 -x=p, and x is odd, is p divisible by 24.
Manhattan-if x=odd=3, the above is divisible by 24.
I calculated as follows: if x=odd=1, p=0, 0/24=0 or p is div by 24 (since 0 is multiple of all numbers).
Is the approach correct. Thanks
The method is correct. But simply you cant rely on the 1 or 2 result.

so, what i used to do in that type of question is

x = 2n+1

now generalize the same for any value of n.

try it , if it works good for you too.
