A general doubt , i would like to place on a math question that i had read in particular book.I do not remember the perfect dimensions to the question asked ,,nor the book i read ,,,,but i can frame a question of the same kind
n here it is .....
how to calculate the cost of wall-to-wall carpeting for a room having rectangular floor dimensions 12 meters by 20 meters and the cost of carpeting wall to wall is $8 per square meter

Is that 12*20*8=1920?

I guess the question is to find the cost of carpeting the floor?

Area of floor to be covered = Length * Width = 12 * 20 = 240 sq m.
Therefore, cost of carpeting the floor = Area of the floor * cost per sq m = 240 * 8 = 1920 sq m.
