Is this the right time to Start studying for GMAT?

Hi guys,
I am currently pursuing my Chartered Accountancy course in India. I am half way through the course. I wish to write GMAT by the end of this year, so that once i finish my CA, i am aiming,say,entering some top colleges and pursue my MBA dream. Is this a right move? Without post qualification work exp, will top 2o Colleges take admissions?

Kindly suggest at earliest
