Confused!!!!

by GMAT_1986_subha » Mon Jul 04, 2011 1:18 am
I have received invite from two B Schools recently:
1. CEU Business School (Hungary) - 20% Scholarship
2. WHU Business School (Germany) - 15% Scholarship

Now I am confused about the schools.
WHU is a good B School, but in Germany Mainly. Also, German language knowledge will be important.
CEU provides good RPI, but I dont have any idea about Hungarian job market,

Can anyone help me?

If you are an Indian then going to these places could involve the following challenges:

1. Language, culture, food is a very, very difficult. I have been to continental Europe and don't let the travel & living channel trick you into thinking you can be spending the whole day sipping cappuccino in a road-side cafe. Life can be very tough so ensure you are prepared for this.

2. Jobs are going to be very difficult to come by since the VISA regulations, language requirements are very strict in EU countries. Ensure you understand this well and are prepared to return to India in the event you do not get a job there.

3. A lot of learning is what you get from your peer group so make sure that you understand the the cultural context, the work environment/ethics etc will not be the same in which you will practice (if you return to India eventually) or have had exposure to in the past. This might make it difficult for you to understand and implement the knowledge.

However, having said that I also understand that this is a great way to explore a new country, culture etc. All the best!
