Full time articleship for 3 years

Hi
I am an Indian student doing chartered accountancy(CA).And per ca curriculum students have to undergo articleship ( somewhat like internship) from CA Firms for a period of 3 Years.And that too full time.I just want to know that can this be included in work experience when it comes to taking admission in B-schools ? Please help regarding this.

If the articleship is compensated, even at a relatively low rate, you can include it as employment and as part of your work experience. Typically the pivotal factor for employment is that it is paid work. Internships (and I imagine articleships) are sometimes paid - and if so, often at a relatively low rate - and sometimes not. When they are NOT compensated, I recommend putting them in a separate category in your resume (and online app form), as they are an important professional milestone, but can't technically be considered employment. If they ARE compensated, I recommend treating them as employment, though of course specifying the nature of the position.

Also, you can use the optional essay to explain the nuances of the situation if you feel it isn't clearly or accurately explained elsewhere.
