newbie question plz help

Im new to this, my GPA was a 2.5 when i graduated in 2004. I need to get a pretty high score on my GMAT. I just bought the GMAT review book from a buddy of mines and started reading it. i just finished the diagnostic test and i scored avg - above avg in all the sections. Also, I didn't take the test all in one day. while taking the test i felt a little overwhelmed, is that a normal? Now my questions what is the next step besides reading the review? All & any advise is welcome.

Welcome to BTG.

I think your first step should be to take an official GMATPrep test to get a baseline GMAT score and see how far you are away from your target score. Who knows, you might already be at or above your target score.

Keep in mind that, although the software contains only 2 practice tests, you can take each test multiple times. I wrote an article concerning this: https://www.beatthegmat.com/mba/2010/03/ ... iple-times

Whaaa..?! Always take the entire test in one sitting, with a couple of minutes break after the AWA section and after the Quant section, and then see how many you're getting correct. After all, that's how it's gonna be on the actual GMAT. Taking parts of the test on different days just doesn't tell you anything really.

i took a look at the 60 day GMAT Study Guide and i want to do it but is there a substitute for Kaplan GMAT 2011 Premier with CD-ROM....there are issues with the cd rom & windows vista/windows 7.

The Guide uses the Kaplan book for the verbal section, but I suppose you can use other verbal resources. You'll have to adjust accordingly.

For example, if an email suggests that you read pages x to y in the Kaplan book to learn about Strengthen the Argument questions, you'll have to find the corresponding pages in whatever verbal resource you choose to use.
