Inequalities

1. What is the value of x?
(1) x^2 - 5x + 6 = 0
(2) x > 0

2. What is x?
(1) x^2 + 3x + 2 = 0
(2) x < 0

From(1): (x-2)(x-3) = 0.
So, x=2 or x=3. We cannot tell the value of x for certainty
Not sufficient
From(2): x>0
Not sufficient
Both(1)&(2):
x=2, x=3 are bot greater than 0. So, still not sufficient

Hence, E

Q2) Similarly (x+1)(x+2) = 0.
So, x=-1 or x=-2
Using both statements, we still can't say whether x=-1 or x=-2

Hence, E
