PREP score a great prediction?

im wondering if the prep exams gives you an accurate prediction of your GMAT score. normally, i would get 2-3 SC questions wrong (using princeton review, and barron). however, i got 7 SC questions wrong when i finished the prep test. i thought ive already covered all grammar rules and common mistakes. GMAT in two weeks. do you guys have any last step strategy or tips? thanks in advance.

I haven't given princeton, barron tests yet but I have read somewhere that Gmat prep score is most accurate. It consists of GMAT type/level questions.
Go through MGMAT SC book and keep revising your flash cards.

there's one big warning sign here, and that's your use of the word "grammar" to refer to sentence correction in general. remember, sentence correction is not just a test of grammar -- it's a test of grammar AND MEANING.

to what extent, if any, are you using the meaning of the sentence when you solve sentence correction problems?
if the answer is "not at all", then you are going to have to change that ... right now.

Just to add my 2 cents, make sure you have a solid process for "diagnosing" SC errors. I suggest starting every SC by identifying the subject and the main verb, then divide the sentence into its clauses and phrases. This is especially helpful when you can't "spot the error" right away.

Find the answer choice that fixes the main error first, but keep in mind incorrect choices will often introduce a secondary error.

Carefully review the 7 SCs you got wrong, and in fact ALL SCs you have missed. What are the common elements? What was your own thinking process? If you can identify "how" you proceeded to choose the incorrect answer, you're less likely to make the same mistake on your actual test.

the FIRST thing that you should do, on all SC's, is to use your common sense / intuition to determine the MEANING OF THE SENTENCE.

if you don't find the meaning of the sentence BEFORE you start analyzing its grammar, then up to half of all errors -- including all errors involving modifiers, pronouns, and verb tenses/voices -- will be impossible to figure out.

remember -- grammar is meaningless by itself!
grammar is a vehicle to convey INTENDED MEANING!

if you don't think about the meaning of the sentences, you should consider yourself extremely lucky if you get only 7 SC problems wrong on the test.
