x is m percent of y
x = y*m/100 => y/x = 100/m -----eqn1
lets say y is z% of x
thus we have to find z
y=x*z/100
or z = y*100/x
replacing y/x from 1,
z = (100/m)*100 = 10,000/m
IMO E

Hi,
x=(m/100)y => y=100x/m = (100/m)x = (10000/m)x/100
So y is (10000/m) % of x
Hence, answer E
Cheers!
x=(m/100)y => y=100x/m = (100/m)x = (10000/m)x/100
So y is (10000/m) % of x
Hence, answer E
Cheers!

Let y=100 and m=50.zachlebo wrote:If m > 0 and x is m percent of y, then, in terms of m, y is what percent of x?
(A) 100m
(B) 1/100m
(C) 1/m
(D) 10/m
(E) 10,000/m
i understand how to get the x percent which equals x = m/100*y, but i do not know how to go further to get the answer. do i just solve for y?
e
x = m% of y = 50% of 100 = 50.
y=100 is twice the value of x=50.
Thus, y is 200% of x.
Thus, our target is 200.
Now we plug m=50 into the answers to see which yields our target of 200.
Only answer choice E works:
10,000/m = 10,000/50 = 200.
The correct answer is E.
