Looking for advice...

by areeves1221 » Tue May 03, 2011 3:59 pm
I am wondering whether or not I would stand a chance to get in a top 20 MBA program - my top choices would be MIT, Stanford, and Harvard. My undergraduate GPA was 3.88. I also have my Master's in Accounting and 5 years work experience with Deloitte (currently an audit manager). And I scored 690 on the GMAT. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Dear areeves1221,

You have the GMAT, GPA and amount of work experience to be competitive for a top 20. However, decisions are made on more than the numbers. To give yourself the best chance for admission, you want to submit a strong, overall package conveying why you want to go to business school and how you will add value to the program targeted. You also want to submit in R1 or R2. I commend you for thinking about your applications now as you have time before applications are released over the summer to strategize how best to present your background.

Good luck,
Lisa
