Emerging markets

by timwest » Thu Apr 28, 2011 3:36 am
Hello all,

I'm applying for business schools at the moment and have a few questions. I am a former journalist and filmmaker and am now working in an emerging market in Africa for an internet provider doing business development. I would like to continue working in emerging markets after doing an MBA and I am trying to find out what schools are strongest in emerging markets. I am mainly looking at UK/Europe based schools as I don't really want to do a two year course (although would consider it) but am also thinking of looking at schools in emerging markets (such as Cape Town, Wits, FGV, Indian School of Business, Tsinghua University) any thoughts would be most appreciated.

Thanks so much.

Eric is doing a series on ISB and maybe it can help. Here's the link to the latest article: https://www.beatthegmat.com/mba/2011/04/ ... still-poor You can search for the rest in the article library: https://www.beatthegmat.com/mba/category ... admissions Just type "Eric" and you can find them!

I visited Cape Town GSB this January and it was pretty darn awesome. They have some excellent professors and part of the campus is right at the Waterfront, the most popular tourist destination there. I'm not entirely sure how good the MBA program is, but it's certainly the best in Africa, so if you're interested in that area definitely check it out!
