right-angles traingles!help!

hello folks!

pls if any can show me how to answer ths q.

a right angled traingle has sides in the ratio 5:12:13. the tangent of the smallest angle is ............
if u can draw it to clarify i w be grateful !

I dont think you need to know tan and other things in GMAT.

But the smallest angle is the angle opposite the side of length 5.

Sine of the smallest angle is opp side by Hypotenuse = 5/13
Cos of the smallest angle is adjacent side by Hypotenuse = 12/13
Tan = sin/cos = 5/12.

But again, this is outisde GMAT scope, unless I am missing something.

Vineeshp is absolutely correct. The GMAT does not test one's knowledge of sine, cosine's and tangents.
