I'm reviewing the mixture problem in the OG 12. pg. 142. I'm having trouble understanding what the n+5 represents in the equation.

n= # of litres of the 15% solution
however, the +5 I'm not sure.

Here, n = the number of liters of 15% salt solution that must be added to the original mixture of 5 liters.

The n+5 represents the volume of the resulting mixture (n liters of 15% mixture plus 5 liters of 8% mixture)
