650 for Haas?

Dear All,

My interest in and exp in high tech industry really makes this schools amazing for so many reason. However, I want to be realistic, it's still $200 and needs time that I could use on other applications.

My background:

GMAT: 650 (79 percentile): Q-49 (86 Percentile) / V-31 (58 Percentile) / AWA-6 (91 Percentile)
TOEFL iBT: 117/120:
Undergrad: BS in Electronics & Telecommunications Engineering (GPA: 3.49)

Experience before enrollment to program: 44 months
Worked in 3 different tech companies in my home country, in Product Management / Business Dev roles @ Tech Companies


Please help me with your expert advice. I need to take a realistic decision, so I really need your opinion on my candidacy to Berkeley Haas.

Although I'm quite in a similar situation as you are, if it is your dream school, you should apply...

A couple of things that you can promote to compensate your GMAT score :
1. you have a good TOEFL score --> should be able to relieve your GMAT Verbal.
2. good undergraduate and Quant score.
3. work on your professional experience to stand out of the crowd.
4. the fact that you are coming from an under represented country.

However, you need to start looking for backup schools outside the top 15.

hey man, it was quite a dream for me. but I later decided not to apply. the application fee would have been an gamble for me I think. Berkeley has GMAT avg of about 700s + 5 years experience, it just seemed like I had too many odds to beat. besides, even if I were that lucky to get in, I wont be having any scholarship,, and the financial burden would be too high for a third world country citizen. may be sometime in future for some other course I'll plan on that.
