great Atulmangal.
(2) Indicated by the polls are the show's popularity
This is certainly wrong. What is the explanation by Kaplan by the way ? I am curious.

Correct this one and explain the reasoning behind.

Indicated by polls is/are the fears among the people because of radiation left by nuclear reactor disaster.

Thanks for the appreciation
In sentence 2, the singular subject "popularity" does not agree with the plural verb "are."

if u notice the original sentence is in passive voice...so reverse it in active and u get the answer
The shows popularity is indicated by the polls

This is not the OE its just my opinion

@atulmangal : I suspect the explanation for 2 is right. can you check OE please.

Indicated by polls is/are the fears among the people because of radiation left by nuclear reactor disaster.

Can 'indicated by Polls' be subject here ?

the way sentence is constructed it seems that the subject is "popularity".

If you like this change in format, you might want to look at questions from the writing section of the SAT. I would say they are easier than GMAT SC, but test many of the same concepts in a slightly different way.
