Profile Evaluation pls!

Hi, everyone!
Hope u can help me. I`m 23 years old. Female. I`m looking forward to getting into MSc programme either in UK, or in USA. I spent huge amount of time preparing for GMAT, but did`t succeed and scored just 600. Now I`m wondering whether I`m still competitive for such giants as LSE,LBS and etc...Here is my profile:

Bachalor degree wit honour in International Economics (I was the only one student who won the scolarship in the Uni)
GPA 4.0
Work exp: 2 years (also I worked in the international company and had my own successfull projects)
TOEFL: 109
I have lots of certificates, that confirm I have an advanced level in English
knowledge of 2 foreign languages
GMAT: 600

Although LSE, LBS ant other unis give the information, that they have a range of 600-800 GMAT, and I have that minimum, I`m still not sure how competitive I am. Is it worth applying? I do not have time to re-take GMAT, unfortunately.

Dear Elena_2011,

How competitive you are will vary by school based on your profile measures against that school's applicant pool. However, your competitiveness is also affected by how strong your overall application package is, meaning your essays, resume, and recommendations (not to mention interviews) have a significant impact. LBS and LSE are probably a reach for you, but worth the effort if you feel you can put together a strong, overall package. It is always best to apply to a mix of programs--some that are a reach, some where you are on par, and some where you are above average. That way, your likelihood of success is much higher that you will be admitted to at least one.

Actually, when I saw my GMAT scores, I quite well realized, that I do need strong positions in my package to make it worth looking. Now I have already done a strong academic recommendation, at the moment I`m working hard (finishing my work) on essays and prof.recommendation. The question I am interested now is how to understand, that ur prof.recommendation is strong enough? What will be good?

Admissions committees prefer recommendations from direct supervisors or managers, but co-workers or other managers are also helpful. They want a sense of who you are as a professional--your skills, your accomplishments, and your work style/ethic from the perspective of those who work alongside you. Be sure whomever you ask will be positive and supportive of your goal to return to school.
