Schools - Help Needed

by girikoratagere » Tue Dec 12, 2006 11:26 am
My Profile:

Degree : Bachelor of Mehanical Engineering (graduated in the year 2003)
Good/Decent Academic Record
Worked for an Indian IT major for a couple of years as a software Engineer.
Currently Working as a consultant in an MNC.

GMAT:710
TOEFL: Yet to get the Scores but it is hoped that I will cross the 100 barrier easily :D

Areas of Interest : Finance/ General management
Long Term Goal : Consulting
Recos: Can get very good Recos from my previous manager and also from my previous mentor BUT I won't be able to reveal my MBA plans/ nor ask for a RECO from my current manager.

Extra Curriculars : I am a professinal South Indian Classical Music singer.
Have attended many competitions and have won several prizes.
I have also participated in some concerts with my master.

I want to know the schools that match my profile in the areas of Finance,General Management and Consulting.

I have currently ROSS and Chicago GSB in mind. I also sometimes feel that I am overapping by considering the above 2 schools.
Please advice me on this and also on which schools would be more realistic to apply, with my profile.

Thanks in Advance.

Ross and Chicago are quite different so I would not consider them an overlap. Is that what you mean by overapping? Ross would be a very good one for you!

Potential schools for you:
UNC
UVA
NYU Stern
Yale
Emory

Also:
Kellogg
MIT
But these are more competitive.

Good luck!
