Less Experience after graduation

by bhushank1 » Fri Feb 15, 2008 2:05 am
I'm doing my BCA from a Deemed University in Pune,India. This univ. is one of the oldest univ. in Pune & is accredited by Govt of India.I'm working in Singapore. I will be graduating in July'08.I have 3 years of full time experience. So,are there any schools in US/Europe/Singapore who can consider my application ? The reason I am asking is my experience will be less if it is considered after graduation.

Dear bhushank1:

You will need to confirm with each school, but generally schools that participate in any of the rankings can only count years of work experience post-graduation. While the admission staff will consider your work experience to date and want you to discuss it in your essays/interview, you will be considered as an applicant without work experience if you do not graduate until July 2008 and start a program in 2008.

There are schools that do not require work experience, so you do have options if you want to start your MBA in August/September.

Best of luck!
Lisa

question

by mjjking » Sun Feb 17, 2008 2:43 am
Hi Lisa,
I'm concerned... I have a Bachelor's degree from Italy, and after that I'm about to get - next week - a Laurea Specialistica, which WES equals to a Master's degree. My question is: as I've been working full time for 1+ year now (since I had taken all of my laurea specialistica's exams and I had to take the exams related to them and prepare my final dissertation), will my work experience be counted, as it's post-BA?
thanks!

Dear Rob:

Any professional-level work experience of a full-time nature acquired post-BA will be counted as work experience.

Lisa
