Vast experience - Smart to go part-time?

by TryHarder » Mon Mar 14, 2011 10:38 am
I have ~18 years of work experience in the field of IT consulting, have a GMAT score of 690 and have a GPA of 3.3. I plan to apply for a part-time MBA at one of the top 30 programs. Do you think my work experience/age will work against me? Also, could you suggest if Ross part-time is a good/realistic option?

Dear TryHarder,

Either a part-time or executive program would be an option for you with over 10 years experience. Ross is a solid option for you and one to explore with a campus visit, if you haven't already done so. Depending on your current position in your company and your goals, you might find the executive program to be more aligned with your expectations than a part-time program (or vice versa). Visiting campus and talking with admissions folks for both programs is the best way for you to determine which program is most suited for you.

Good luck,
Lisa
