Has anyone applied through the Consortium? Have you heard back from any schools yet?
My goal is to make MBA applicants take onus over their process.

I am applying via the consortium Class of '13. Out of curiosity did you apply last year? Very competitive. I am applying this year and it seems promising (fingers crossed); its been a tedious process.

I did not apply last year, but I am applying this year. Yes very tedious but just think of the savings in application fees.

I applied via The Consortium this year. I'm curious if anyone knows anything about how valuable the corporate partnerships and orientation program are. Do a lot of members utilize/rely on the Consortium during their intern/job search?

Most definitely yes! A lot of the first year students I've met this year have said that they had internships going into school already and didn't have to worry about recruiting! The companies are most of the top companies you would find at any other conference/fair and then it's up to you to essentially do a bang up job in your internship to get that full-time offer.

Can you tell me more about The Consortium application process? Do schools view a Consortium application in the same light as a standard application??

The best thing I can tell you is to read my blog post around the 2nd week of January titled "what is the consortium" or something like that. Or just google consortium and you'll find the website. (I'm on my phone right now so I can't)

In terms of whether or not the application is viewed the same. That's a valid concern and one that I had when starting out. The thing that validated it fo me was seeing mention of the consortium on all of the schools websites urging those eligible to apply through it. I would definitely not apply to a conortium school NOT using the consortium application. But I will also say that there are people who do it and also get admitted.
