DS strategy

by gmatasp » Thu Feb 14, 2008 12:24 pm
Hi,

I have been studying for the GMAT for a month now and I am having trouble with DS. The Princeton Review and Kaplan books suggest substituting numbers into the Data Sufficiency questions to see if you get a Yes/No result which tells you if the statement is sufficient or not. On the other hand, the OG simplifies the statements and evaluates them to come to the answer.

I can get through the easier questions on the DS in the OG, but I am having trouble with the more difficult ones, specially the "Yes/No" type of questions.

Does someone have a strategy for solving DS questions, which has worked for them? I see that there are CR and RC strategy documents on this forum, which I think are quite good. Is there a similar strategy doc for DS? I appreciate your replies. Thanks.
