Is it grammatically correct to say "when not accompanied correspondingly"? Adverbial modifier, "correspondingly" is modifiying a participle "accompanied". [/u]

I feel that "Rising inventories, when not accompanied by increases in sales, can lead to production cutbacks that would hamper economic growth." would have been correct but i am not sure...............Can someone put some light on the same?????

To me "Rising inventories, when unaccompanied by a corresponding increases in sales, can lead to production cutbacks that would hamper economic growth." sounds more correct.
