Phone Interview Possible?

by fgtrplt03 » Sat Feb 09, 2008 10:32 am
Stacy,

I will be deployed (Air Force officer, 5 years...will be seperating Summer 2009) through the end of the year and I plan on submitting multiple applications for Early Decision. If I were to be offered an interview, will adcom's be turned off by a phone interview? Will the fact that they can not interview me face-to-face lessen my chances of acceptance?

I hate that I will not have the chance to visit the admission's personnel and voice my sincere desire to attend. Unfortunately, timing is not perfect and Uncle Sam is intent on getting one more deployment out of me before I seperate.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Dear fgtrplt03:

While a phone interview is not ideal, I believe most admissions committees will understand your situation. Many strong applicants every year, due to work or geography, must conduct their interviews via phone. If you do have a chance to visit any of your target schools before you are deployed, you might consider trying to set up a visit now.

Be safe over there. Your service is greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Lisa
