Profile Evaluation

by mveerendra » Wed Feb 23, 2011 1:56 am
Hi, I am Veerendra. I have scheduled GMAT on April 14 2011 and aiming a score around 650. I have 5 years of work experience in Software Development. During my work period I was awarded with an applause award for one of my project and was a Sports Organizer for the entire Business Unit in Hyderabad. I have completed my graduation in the year 2006 with specialization in Computer Science and an aggregate of 65%. Please kindly let me know if you need any further information in evaluating my profile. I am interested to specialize in Project Management and kindly please suggest some of the schools. Scholarships and Placements are my priority.

Thanks and Regards,
Veerendra.

Veerendra,

Coming from the IT profile, you should try to achieve at least 700 GMAT (and preferably more) to have a decent chance at the top tier business schools. Moreover, project management is not a MBA concentration in most of the schools who offer a broader variety of functional career areas such as finance, marketing, etc. Spend some time refining your goals and then select your business schools based on your profile strength as well as your career goals.

These websites might be a good place to start your GMAT preparation or know about particular schools, but you will have to do some soul searching yourself to know what do you want to do in your future career.
