Reason: the statement '40% more than...' should compare the Dancing Doll line's sales and not the line itself.

Although I am not sure, can someone clarify and explain please.

For A and C, we cannot use 3 Times with "as much as".

D and E have incorrect comparison and also change the meaning of sentence. "3 times more", seems that it will be sales of Dancing line exceed the sales of Basic blocks by 4 times. Further "3 times" indicate multiplication, there should be a countable object following 3 times.

i think it will be B. We are comparing the sales and GMAT expects us to be clear with what is being compared. Though E sounds good the sales aspect is not getting reflected properly. Here sales of X is getting compared with y's sales and Z's Sales.

I have been rusty as I havent been preparing SC for sometime. So I might be wrong. IMO E. Here is why.

B,C,D wrong because of the usage of Basic Blocks and Teeny Tiny Trucks instead of Basic Blocks line and Teeny Tiny Trucks line respectively.
That leaves A and E. Consider A and split it.

The Dancing Doll line sold nearly 3 times as much as the Basic Blocks line's sales.

That leaves E. In fact, as opposed to the view of comparison of sales, I feel that the companies themselves are being compared and not their sales.

Sreak, "40% more than the Teeny Tiny Trucks line" itself is underlined. So how can you assume that we have to make the sentence parallel to this? I think we have to make the rest of the comparisons parallel to non underlined sentence. Right?

Just a caution. I have seen in many questions that GMAT comfortably exchanges "more" with "as much as". So do not assume this. I think GMAT verbal makers' quant knowledge is not much Just kidding.
