increase from diagnostic to real thing

Hi everyone,

I was just wondering what your scores increased by from your first diagnostic to the real thing.

I'm starting the MGMAT online course next Sunday, and just did their first practice CAT.

I am TERRIBLE at math and got 31

I thought I'd be much better at verbal, but only got 35!!! I am shocked by this! Teaches me not to be complacent.

Overall score: 550! Better than I thought (or deserve!)

I think I have the potential to do a bit better in verbal once I learn the ways of the GMAT. As for math, I really don't know.

Anyway, I was wondering how much your scores increased by from diagnostic to real thing.

Would appreciate your input!

First diagnostic, GMATPrep: 690
Actual GMAT: 720

Score increases won't happen overnight--it took me a lot of time/effort to achieve this improvement.

That is a really impressive diagnostic and real score - congrats!

I think it's going to be a long hard slog to improve, but I'm willing to do it.

I think it'll be easier to improve my math than my verbal (though I'll never be great at it), as I literally know no math and guessed on so many questions. Verbal, on the other hand, is more subtle and trickier...

I agree with you that. In your situation, it seems that if you do a thorough concept review of math that there is a big opportunity to boost your score.

Verbal is definitely tricky. Think about contributing to the verbal areas of this community to get some feedback from the other users and experts--we're here to help!
