Is the marked option correct and you want to know ehy is that or you got that one wrong? :D

Anyway, I think is B.

C, D and E are out becaus it has to be a "than".

Choosing between A and B I think A is out beacuse it has to be a "where".

Correct me if I am wrong..

anyone in X, including a,b and C..

Cris, I understand the reasoning behind "where" and "than" part of it. But how about the "whether"? Doesn't it sound wrong in B?

At times i am confused between usage of

than v/s instead of v/s v/s as opposed to.
I would appreciate if somebody can explain contrasting examples of where all these three needs to be used..

Here is how i try read it-

C- found at X as opposed to Y, where
and 'where' points so Y, so it sounded convincing to me.

E - found at X instead of Y, because it..

Is the idiom in E correct? I know because of 'it' E as a whole is incorrect.

I dont see B as the right answer. It looks like C because A and B sound much more grammatically worse. Also the ending of the sentence with Whether doesn't sound right either. maybe its just reeally late for me!

IMO A

Because "WHETHER" in option B just does not fit in

Further, more...than is the correct Idiom right?

Is my thought process right??

If we have "more", we need a "than" somewhere down the road. Eliminate (c), (d) and (e).

(a) has a subject-verb agreement problem: "coastal waters"... "exposes" don't match. Eliminate (a).

Only one left! Choose (b).
