The best time to take the GMAT is when you are confident that you have mastered the material. That time varies widely by individual. It is not too early to start studying. Your post suggests that you will have difficulty with the verbal section of the GMAT. Do not take the GMAT five times trying to raise your score. That is a red flag to admissions committees that says you are concentrating on the wrong thing.

Your work experience will be slight compared to the competition, which will limit the schools that will be interested in you. You need to take advantage of whatever managerial responsibilities are available. There will be many technical applicants applying at the same time as you apply and you will need to show why your background will make you a better contributor to the classroom experience. To stand out you will have to show how the quality of your experience is stronger than that of your competitors.

Scholarships for MBA programs are very rare. Schools assume that you will find a job after graduation that will enable you to pay back your loans.

Plan to spend 3-6 months preparing your applications. Deadlines vary by schools, but most schools have a fall (October/November) first round and a January/February second round. Many have a third or fourth round as well, but those tend to accept fewer applicants. You should plan on taking your first GMAT with at least 6 weeks to spare before application deadline so that you can retake if necessary.

Good luck,

Thanks a lot for the reply.
I have toppd All India Managment entranc exam with a score 800/800.
Will that add any benefit to my application. If i am able to get a gud gmat score abov 680.What are th chances of scholarship.
I have a gap od 2 yrs during m acadmics,.Will that hamper my chances to some extent.
What all should i do to make my profile better.

Thanks .

Schools will be looking at your most recent testing experience. I don't know when your 800 score occurred, but if it is more than 4 years ago, it will have little impact.

Again, scholarships are rare in graduate business schools. Most applicants are helped through loans. Most schools will ensure that you have access to enough loans, although that is more difficult for non-citizens.

The impact of your two-year gap will depend on why you dropped out and what you did with your time. They will be very concerned that you had strong reasons for stopping your education and that you used the time productively.
