Dear sliver123,

It is not impossible for a top 10, but I advise any prospective MBA to have a mix of schools on his/her target list. Your experience is a bit different than other engineering degree holders from India, so that will be an advantage for your application. Your GMAT is low relative to other international applicants and below average for a top 10, but an otherwise strong application package (essays, recommendations, resume, interview) might mitigate that weakness for you. I encourage you to have a mix of schools, some top 10 and some top 40, on your list to give yourself the best chance to be in business school. There are some great social entrepreneurship programs outside the top 10--you might be surprised by the ones you find once you start researching your options.

Good luck,
Lisa
