760 (V51, Q46), slightly disappointed

While the unreasonably high verbal score is welcome, the fact that I bombed on the quant part (after several weeks of studying) is hugely disappointing and what's worse, it's below the magical 80 percentile.

So, I have no idea what to do. Retake?

Wow!!! That verbal score is amazing.

Unfortunately, I don't have any insight on whether you should retake test because of the quant score. I've heard the same 80th percentile "rule" as you have but I'm not sure how important it is...

Wow, amazing score. For a second there, I thought you had the sections reversed.

I think only a few schools use the 80th percentile rule very strictly. And even then, I don't think they would ding you for it since you got a 760.

Generally speaking, MBA admission committees look for a quant score above the 80th percentile.

That's a wonderful verbal score. I think you should now proceed with your applications. If the universities which you're targeting seriously consider candidates to have a minimum of 80 percentile in quant, then I guess you should think of re-taking it. So, on a final note, check with your target schools and evaluate whether your score is fine.
