Profile Evaluation

by gmat800_ » Mon Dec 27, 2010 11:12 am
Hi.
My profile so far is:

- Mexican Engineer 29 years old
- More than 7 years as a consultant of a big 4
- Extensive international experience (focused in Latinoamerica)
- GMAT 650 (Q45,v 34)
- GPA 7.84 from 10
- Volunteer teacher for more than 11 years

My GMAT and my GPA are to low for a top school?

Do I have to re-take the GMAT?

Dear gmat800_,

Perhaps too low, but hard to say with certainty based on the limited information in your post. Also, do you define a top school as top 20? top 10? top 40? Your GMAT and GPA are on the lower end of the competitive range for schools in the top 40. However, there could be evidence in your professional experience, recommendations and/or essays that demonstrates your aptitude. I do think it might be worth retaking the GMAT if you have the resources and believe you can increase your score.

Good luck,
Lisa
