Hello guys,

I have been studying fot the GMAT for over 3 months, my first CAT without any knowledge or instruction about the GMAT was 210 (I couldn't finish), my second CAT was 370 (two weeks after studying at Kaplan), my 3rd CAT was 560 (Kaplan's CAT, a week ago) and my last CAT 530 (Official CAT, today). I have been Studying very hard, at least 5 hours a day and over 8 on the weekends.

I am taking the Kaplan on site course (for the second time, one after the other).
I am using the Word Translation guide from MGMAT.
And I am using the Official guide.

My weak area is algebra, I study and understan but every time I see a new problem I can't work on it.
My RC is weak too, I get lost so easy.

Any advice? I have 3 weeks but I don't know if I should pospone the test. I felt so close when I got the 570 on my CAT but then today's 530 brought my confidence down.

Thank you for your help.

I am venezuelan, 28 years old, planing to apply to St. Gallen International Management program and I need at least 600 to send my application.

To gauge your level of preparedness, I suggest that you take one of the GMAT PREP tests. The scores on the GMATPREP quite strongly correlate, most of the times, with the score you'll see on the actual test.
For RCs, I'd suggest that you you firstly go through the RC strategies on the RC forum and then practice as many passages as possible so that your stamina and familiarity with different kind of topics increase. For practicing RCs, I'd strongly recommend RC99 . It has 99 passages on the GMAT pattern and will help you improve your accuracy, stamina and comfort level with the GMAT RCs.

Hey,

I can really recommend the Princeton Review book. I started with a German GMAT for Dummies, since I hoped for some special advice for international (non English) test takers, but I did not find it very helpful.

The Princeton book is really great in explaining strategies and practice problems and so this was my main guide for preparation. To pracitice some real GMAT problems I also worked on some problems from the official guide. Are you weak in problem solving because this is an english test or because you are having general problems? if you are weak in general you might also wanna reread some rules in your own language. When I pracitced I had some word problems in the maths section, but I just lerned all the words I had problems with and it helped a lot!

Like all the others I feel that the GMAT Prep tests accurately predict your acutal score. So if you tend to be nervous do the Prep test and it is unlikely that you are going to perform (really) worse on the real GMAT. But the bad news: You won´t perform (any) better either!

Hope this is helpful! Good luck!

I'd recommend getting the MGMAT Sentence Correction Guide. Sentence Correction is the most frequent problem type presented on the test. Therefore, the SC guide will be the fastest way to improve your score.

Best of luck.
